To say the written battles on social media where fierce, would be an understatement.. The www was fraught with people on both sides of the divide wanting to have their "say" and convince the other side of their own arguments. While the streets where occupied, some like me hit the "pavements" of the web in support of what I consider a step towards implementing the "Fresh Air agenda".

FICTION 1. it is a fallacy when people say the subsidy removal is evident of government's insensitivity and therefore a deliberate ploy to bring pain and suffering on the masses. If anything, it will be a case of "THE RICH ALSO CRIES"
FACT 1. The subsidy affects only PMS and most mass transit vehicles are powered by diesel that hitherto had no subsidy on it.. last time we looked Diesel was selling in the hundreds range.. therefore it is unlikely that the anticipated hike in transport prices may not be an issue.
FACT 2: For how much longer will any sane Nigerian sit back and have our commonwealth shared abroad to neighbouring west coast states by the so called FAT Cats AKA The cabal ,who purchase the subsidised PMS, take them out to the west coast to be bought at prices that afford them incredulous margins. When such subsidies could be better applied to other sectors of the Economy that will impact the masses directly.
FACT 3:If you look at it objectively, those that will cry most at the removal AS I EARLIER STATED will be the rich..With the number of fleet some of them have (I am not even talking about politicians or government holders here because I would expect that in running a leaner government all such priviledges must be withdrawn and maybe monetized so they can feel the pinch. Remember when houses where taken from some and drivers withdrawn and instead monies given; how many employed more than one driver or lived in a house that they couldn't maintain..anyway I digress). So for these set of people it will be a case of using your tongue to count ones teeth and would inadvertently see the drastic reduction of overtly ostentatious living....If anything austerity measures will enter the dictionary of the so called RICH.. "This is not a question of whether the removal of fuel subsidy is wrong or right? I find it down right laughable when I read posts from people who have like five fuel guzzling jeeps/SUVs packed in their drive ways enconsed in the comfort of their living rooms in their palatial homes clicking away on their lappies, Androids, BBs and Ipads inciting people to go out on the streets and burn down the Na...tion because of the removal..
These same group of people whose International Passports are travel ready, who would at the first signs of revolt they advocate for sneak out on the first available flight, leaving the masses they claim they speak for to wallow in throes of death...These same people who had wittingly or unwitingly benefitted from the rape of this Nation, who today turn "Cape Crusaders"....
Like most Nigerians I seek to know what the Interventionist measures are to cushion the effects of this abrupt removal before we talk of long term palliative measures..
The millions of Nigerians who on that fateful day in April 2011 used their thumb prints to bring about the paradigm shift that we have at least deserve FULL DISCLOSURE..This is what we should demand from Government. Government should show its HAND. It must be to OUR OWN GOOD....
