My www Detox: it was worth it

Sunrise on my first morning

My leave of absence from “terra virtuale” was not deliberate; no planned hiatus this time like my calculated absence earlier in the year after the 2 week virtual drama that ensued following the Fuel subsidy removal. The onslaught was such that I needed to catch my breath back then.
This time around, my absence was brought on by the simple enough reason of my winding up in an environment lacking in internet connectivity. I admit now that when the reality of the news hit home on arrival at the Resort located in Lagma, Krokrobite , Ghana .  The prospect of being without internet services for five days was quite daunting. Honestly, I realised I was a dye in the wool internet junkie when rather than accept the news and embrace what was on offer, I began to wait with trepidation for the withdrawal symptoms –major jonesing- that I was certain would follow after a few hours of being disconnected from the www.

Did I say withdrawal symptoms? Scratch that; because the children didn’t give me the opportunity to brood, what with the beauty around us and the lure of the unspoiled beach of Lagma. My Nelly B, My Matey and my Nyagriya, were not to be outdone as they spent the first few hours snapping away like crazy and striking various fierce poses that would have gotten some major affirmations from Tyra. After a few hours on the beach and the crazy fresh fish kebabs that we had for dinner courtesy of Nelly B and Nyagz and prepared by Enoch; their escort to the fishing village earlier in the day where they bought the fish; I knew my mind would be the better for it following the www detoxification.

It’s no surprise that following my return to civilisation, I find it quite tedious to imagine resuming the “click, click” motion that is the life of a webbie. Don’t get me wrong, the sad news of the heinous incident perpetrated by the despicable Boko Haram riled me no doubt, but rather than stir me to write it only strengthened my resolve to keep the faith and never cease to believe that IT SHALL BE WELL with Nigeria.

Did I mention the pure decadent beauty of Bojo Beach and the sheer delight of the experience  that lived up to its billing as advertised on the web; to think that the gate fee was not deterrent enough seeing as we went back for a second visit during our short stay is a pointer of how delightful the experience of this unplanned hiatus was.

It is to be expected therefore, that my first post, post hiatus should be somewhat like a debrief of the experience to clear my head of the beaches and the Oh so beautiful waves and did I mention the Sunrise.....Because it’s down to business; down to the business of expressing My Point of View

Pictures, they say, speak louder than words.....Come Relive the experience with me
