SUMMING UP OUR "PREDICTED" BREAK UP

In the wake of the bomb blasts perpetrated by some despicable elements on the morning of the 25th December 2011, quite a number of reactions followed the event and one of such reactions in a conversation i had with a friend is reproduced somewhat to the best of my ability here; of course I did the ACTS for clarity.

ACT 1 SCENE 2: Militancy in the Niger Delta ups the ante and evolves from simple agitation and bunkering in the creeks to full fledged Militia onslaught on Economic Jugular of Nigeria. A...CT 1 scene 3: Dialogue results in AMNESTY under UMYA/GEJ, calm returns to the country for a while. ACT 1 SCENE 4: In a
situation room in CIA Hq, Langley....their is trepidation its not all moving according to plan, the brouhaha that should have marked UMY illness and death has been contained by the bloody Nigerians and now they seem at peace..hmm..

ACT 2: SCENE 1: GEJ, is sworn in at UMY's demise, he recieves applause from all and sundry..ACT 2 SCENE 2: GEJ, still hasnt declared his intention to run in 2011, first warning bomb goes off on OCT. 1 fingers pointed at MEND...GEJ declares, Zoning palaver starts...slugs it out wins at the PDP Primaries ..( somewhere in Langley, smirks on faces thinking "does he have the b**ls to pull this off?, a...nd pull it off he does and cheers fill the situation room)...ACT 2 Scene 3: GEJ clinches victory at the polls. (all and sundry troop out to vote) He wins amidst backlashes, post election violence, threats and myriads of issues of National interest:Islamic Banking, minimum wage etc as he tries to form a govt) THE Jos Mayhem; BOKO(BOOK) HARAM (IS ABOMINATION) Bombs/onslaught go off randomly albeit at strategically picked targets: against orthodox muslims, Police, UN, Army barracks and finally hitting the core of our essence religion, nothing short of a slap on the day of the birth of the Saviour...ACT 2: SCENE 4: The US Sounds a warning of our break UP ( this time unbeknown to GEJ for a different reason...Yet GEJ refuses to accept such dour prediction) For all those who think this is a blame game of conspiracy on the part of the US, sorry to disappoint una o.......to be continued: the Significance/Contextual Implications of the 2005 and 2011 Predictions of Break UP......

ACT 3: SCENE 1: It would amount to living in denial if I refuse to accept the fact that Corruption has eaten into the very fabric of the Nation and even new babies born today in Nigeria probably are wired that way....but in 2005 when the US sounded the prediction about 2015 breakup it was simply because FACT 1: They knew that come that year PDP would have rescinded on the Zoning arrangement and th...e North planned to hold on to power by any means necessary and the South having had GEJ there for 8 years as VP, who they naturally would have expected to transit to the Presidency, would have had their hopes dashed...By this time the ND militia would have totally gone on an onslaught and with their counterparts in the west and east ensured that the Nation breaks up. Why do you think the Amensty deal was brokered if not to calm the nerves of the ND militants ahead of the plans to hold on to power..ACT 3 SCENE 2: With GEJ as President the Oligarch plans have been weakened and now the plans of a northern return to power is at best a pipe dream if GEJ decides to hold on to power..Bomb Blasts and especially the hit on the UN is an outright strategy for a US backed wresting of power from GEj..The US is too smart to be drawn into the murky waters and simply predict for the second time a break up FACT 2: They know that various options are available to the entity called NIGERIA: 1. We either stand together and resist every attempt to polarise us along religious lines to inflame the polity 2. We fight back resulting in a civil war that would inadvertently break the country up. 3.fail to seek solutions to all of these nonsense and continue to play the blame game and blame the Presidency for everything.

CONCLUSION: 2005: THE US CAUTIONED ABOUT THE CONTINUED NORTHERN RULE AS A BASIS FOR BREAK UP ..2011: US CAUTIONS AGAINST BREAK UP BECAUSE OF THE NORTH'S HOSTILITIES AGAINST A SOUTHERN PRESIDENT.

THEIR PRESENT PLAN/STRATEGY IS TO MAKE THE COUNTRY SO UNGOVERNABLE THAT THE MILITARY WILL BE FORCED TO TAKE OVER (YOU CAN BET NOT ONE BOMB WILL GO OFF IF THAT HAPPENS AND A NEW TRANSITION PROCESS WILL INEVITABLY HAND POWER BACK TO THEM) THEY PLAN THAT NIGERIA BREAK UP BY EXPLOSION, IMPLOSION OR MERE FIZZLING OUT..I SAY WE WON'T BREAK UP WHAT DO YOU SAY?
