WHY 2015? PLEASE GET INVOLVED NOW
I read somewhere on Social Media, that the NLC/TUC "betrayal" of the people in their negotiations with Government resulting in the N97 consensus following the Fuel subsidy removal, has resulted in the birth of a new movement, spearheaded by some "Youth Leaders" currently wooing Nigerian youths on social media platforms to sign up and begin preparations ahead of a move that will pave the way for the 'genuine Nigerian Spring' of 2015 that will usher in a NEW ORDER.
I am not out to speak on the subject of motives on the part of the conveners because that will amount to an absence of objectivity on my part. I confess that in the 2 weeks while the FSR brouhaha lasted I lost my cool on
one or two occasions and rode on the wings of pure adrenaline driven emotional outbursts. Now the dust has cleared, I realise the greater need to play mediator in this seeming war of wits between the Old and New order which if not properly reined in will not auger well for the State of the Nation. The questions I ask myself are; "CAN A HOUSE DIVIDED AGAINST ITSELF STAND?; WAS THIS FS FACE OFF REALLY ABOUT A WINNER TAKES ALL SITUATION?; IF YOUTHS SHUN GOVERNMENT NOW AND OCCUPY THEMSELVES WITH PLANS FOR 2015, AND REFUSE TO STAND UP AND BE COUNTED IN THE PRESENT, WHAT IS THE GUARANTEE THAT WE WOULD STILL HAVE A NATION WORTH THE TROUBLE OF LEADING IN 2015?.

Sometimes, I wish we can all take a moment or two to reflect, i am certain that we may likely see that in our own little way we have been enablers of the system we so deride today.
I want to urge all youths not to give up on today, because to do so is to give up on the IDEA OF WHO YOU REALLY ARE. 2015 is not the definitive time for Nigeria to get better; the time is NOW, because there is no time like the present. The last few days have witnessed some things never before imagined in the country, that in my opinion are a direct result of the many VOICES that were united in a shout during the "OCCUPATION". Those same VOICES can be actively engaged for the present. The Youth Leaders who are driving this initiative can add their valuable "two cents" in the present dispensation. They can become the DANIELs in the Kings Court, doing things differently in the HOPE that CHANGE will come. They can stand for something in the present even in the midst of "CORRUPTION" they so abhor and make a difference.
All I ask is that you don't wait till 2015 to show what you are capable of. Start now and show that YOU can do things differently. Engage government at different levels with the Sharp minds that you have, it’s time to sheath the swords and get down to the brass tacks of ensuring that government delivers on all its promises. Be the poster Children of the ‘integrity’ that you seek. Take advantage of the tools that have been placed in your hands i.e the spring board that the FOI bill for instance affords and the so many others available in public domain. The greatest TEST for the future will be to resist the temptations around even in the present. AND I KNOW IT's POSSIBLE, GET INVOLVED TODAY THAT 2015 WILL BE ASSURED IF YOU SO DESIRE.
An American President once said “Ask not what your Country can do for you, but what you can do for your Country”.
A siddon look attitude will not cut it, the country is bigger than any one person and we have a duty as citizens to make sure it works. Beyond the blood and tears of protests and violence, the true worth of the Country will be measured by how successful we are.
Let’s all join hands and make this work.
Thanks
