Boko Haram: A case of Quem deus vult perdere, dementat prius

“Quem deus vult perdere, dementat prius” loosely translated; "Those that the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad".

This quotation very much sums up my ever evolving POV, from where I stand on the sidelines on the issue of the Boko Haram insurgence. I strongly believe that these ongoing reign of terror and mayhem left, right and center; with the latest in Kano and Taraba, are evidently last acts of desperation from mad people. The dragnet is closing in; any moment from now the noose will be tightened, the big masquerades are about to be unmasked, the sponsors behind the ‘walking dead’ are wide awake and smelling the coffee (Java no less), they know THEIR TIME IS UP!

They are outnumbered and they know it; that is why they choose to up the ante on their attacks to provoke the superior power of the Nation’s arsenal to action; they also want to provoke Christians who have consistently become their targets in the past month into action against Muslims; they want to turn Northerners against Southerners; Family members by virtue of marriage against each other. They want to turn what some of us had considered complacency in the face of these dastardly acts to full on acts of retaliation. They want us to turn against each other, but I am definitely not buying what they are selling. I don’t know about you.

These men behind the masks are the ones for whom the bell tolls and its knell is loud and clear. I see them running scared with their whipped tails tucked between spindly legs; No longer will their gilded cages behind high fences hold them in. How many of us will they sacrifice at the altar of greed and avarice in their inordinate quest for Power before they know its GAME OVER for them? Have the forgotten that Power belongs to GOD? They will HANG, YES! They will hang from the very “gallows” they have prepared for the rest of us; for the bloods of INNOCENTS speak louder than ever, the screams reverberating to the heavens have been heard and the ANSWER is imminent. I am persuaded now more than ever that the set time to deliver NIGERIA IS NOW...DON'T THEY JUST KNOW IT.....OTBN
